Colorado National Guard

Drug Demand Reduction Team

MISSION STATEMENT:

The Colorado National Guard Drug Demand Reduction Program provides support to community based organizations and law enforcement agencies by providing education, training, tutoring, and mentoring for Colorado youth to help them develop the skills and the will to avoid the use or abuse of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. This support includes, but is not limited to, support of after-school programs, camps/retreats, community recreational programs, role model programs, sports-drug awareness programs, youth centers, and drug-free events.

Laramie River Valley Rendezvous -

Since 1992, Colorado Counter-drug has supported the Fort Collins Police and Fire Departments with the LRVR, an annual at-risk youth camp held in the Rawah Wilderness Area of Northern Colorado. This camp provides approximately 60 Northern Colorado youths the opportunity to attend the camp at no cost to their families. Colorado Counter-drug supports the Rendezvous with equipment and personnel to make the outing possible. Our staff spends the week with the kids and provides drug awareness education, positive role models, and camp mentors.
